The Sultan Mohammed IV stadium is one of the stadiums in the state of Kelantan. The stadium can accommodate up to 30,000 spectators and is located on Jalan Doktor, Kota Bharu.
The Stadium was built in 1967 with the aim to provide a venue for sports activities in Kelantan, in particular for football. It was built on the site of a football field of Kelantan Football Association and located in the heart of Kota Bharu town center, adjacent to Government offices.
At that time, it is the largest stadium in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It has a field area that meets the standards set by the National Sports Council; 119 meters long x 100 meters wide.
The stadium is always full of rabid supporters of Kelantan FA. Therefore, it was called the Red Warriors Stadium by the fanatical supporters of Kelantan FA.
The National squad has played in this stadium when they went against Myanmar in 2012. The stadium has also hosted the AFC Cup league match for Kelantan vs. Arema FC from Indonesia in 2012.
